Over 700 great shows in a wonderful fourteen years of broadcasts! For example:

Here are listings of our past shows, with improved audio coming soon. Some dates have audio sites linked. Meanwhile, for novelty, try West Coast Live on TV via the Exploratorium at April 1, 2000 for a show about Bodies. (No foolin') Or, some of Sedge's other projects include interviews for the Exploratorium which can be found in their Memory Lecture website here. If you have a taste for chocolate, try a bite of this!

You can hear several of our shows in "RealAudio" from the Exploratorium, where we broadcast these five coast-to-coast shows of West Coast Live. Also, try a sample of the new and improved high-fidelity audio sound file you can enjoy in the coming weeks here. Please let us know how it sounds to you. It helps us provide the best listening experience (short of being in the theater itself, of course!) Best, WCL

In April WCL invited Vanda Marlow, Brit by the Bay, to be a periodic commentator with her inimitable wit and droll sense of life. Here, as Vanda writes, is what she hopes to impart to us:

This is my tribute to the America that has inspired me for more than 7 years now. Not the familiar USA of Disney, Hollywood and dubious politics, but an America where I have found a boundless seam of creativity and kindness. Sometimes it takes an outsider to see the best in a place and to remind people of who they really are. It is my hope that in the best tradition of Anglo American relations I can hold a mirror to those universal qualities that I see here in my everyday outings and re-enchant America with itself. Who knows what may be achieved with curiosity, humour and a British accent.

If you have favorite organizations, people and places you think I should know about to broaden my knowledge of the "compassion muscles" at work in the Bay Area, IÕd be thrilled to hear from you at BritByTheBay ( then the ^at^ sign) wcl.org. Remember, my criteria are Creativity and Kindness.

    July 10th show

This week, inspired by the movie "The Corporation" I take a look at businesses and organizations in the Bay Area whose mission it is to make business a force for social change. When Sedge and I get chatting, it's always a little freeform, but these are the things I might mention - A huge subject, but you've gotta start somewhere!

Businesses for Social Responsibility, a San Francisco based group of blue chip companies encouraging and supporting members in new standards of corporate social responsibility Ð

Social Venture Network, whose mission is "transforming the way the world does business" Ð

Thoughtleader Gatherings Ð a learning community of change agents and visionaries, in Bay Area and Minnesota.

Chip Conley Ð entrepreneur founder of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, author of "The Rebel Rules Ð daring to be yourself in business".

ForFilm Reviews the lovely Wesla Whitfield, chanteuse and sometime guest, whose lovely husband Mike Greensill is our wonderful house pianist, enjoys some movies more than others, and enjoys saying so: "Goldie"
